Description

In this course students will practice each of the stages from drawing to painting a still life from observation with a focus on the principles of linear perspective.

In the first 1-2 classes we will work on drawing and learn guiding principles and techniques. Subsequent classes students will begin the painting process. Students will paint a full color still life observing simple objects.

In this course students will practice:

  • The principles of linear perspective and drawing objects turned in space.

  • Measuring tilts and angles and “blocking in” a drawing

  • Transferring a drawing to a painting support

  • Painting or drawing light on form

  • Color mixing

  • Painting a color study

  • Painting a color wash underpainting

  • Finishing with form painting

Bio:
Cee Poull Blaine is an artist and instructor living in San Carlos CA. A life-long passion for drawing and painting led Cee to study visual arts in high school and in college at the Maryland Institute College of Art. After a move back to the Bay Area she earned her degree in early childhood education at San Francisco State University. While raising her sons, Cee resumed her study of the arts in 2016 at the Bay Area Classical Artist Atelier studying under local and visiting instructors. Cee works in her studio and shows at the Twin Pines Art Center in Belmont CA.
